For those who like to be in the very centre of things, the perfectly delightful La Vieille Forge has everything you could wish for in a ski chalet.
Located close to the centre of Courchevel 1850, this deluxe chalet – comprising a spacious apartment on an upper floor of a beautifully designed timber-faced building – combines warmth, elegance and character.
Walls are largely woodpanelled throughout, with stone-tiled flooring – and the furniture in all the rooms is both stunningly stylish, comfortable and practical. This, combined with the location, gives you the best of both worlds.
If you want to go out, the ultra-chic centre of Courchevel is literally only steps away from your front door – and the evening attractions at this world-class resort include nightclubs with live music, piano bars and discos, as well as ice hockey matches and ski-jumping. But you will also face the draw of a cosy night in with a drink in front of a roaring fire – even more luxurious if you’re watching the snow bucketing down outside – and some mellow music via the high-quality Bose iPod dock. Not a bad choice to have to make.
The fabulous position means you can also make the most of the village immediately after skiing, with not only lively bars but bustling markets too, selling local produce including cheese, wine and honey.
The chalet sleeps up to eight and all four bedrooms have private facilities, with slippers, bathrobes and a selection of Aromatherapy Associates products waiting for you. The living room is large with plenty of comfortable seating, a television and a balcony running round two sides. The spacious dining room, with a huge oak table, is open-plan with the kitchen and has an open fire – and a large balcony too.
There is a lift from street level, and the ski room, beside the apartment’s front door, has heated boot racks. No wonder La Vieille Forge is so popular with our guests. |

Catering: | ::back to top | | There will be a Champagne reception on the first night of your holiday.
Breakfast can be as hearty or as light as you wish. There is fruit juice, yoghurt, cereals, porridge and preserves with freshly baked bread delivered each morning. A hot breakfast is also cooked on request until 9am (6 days).
Then there’s the treat of afternoon tea - with homemade cakes, biscuits or savoury and plenty of fresh bread and preserves laid out for you on your return from the slopes. High tea can be provided for children after 6 pm if required.
Dinner, the highlight of the evening, starts with pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the lounge, before an excellent three course meal. Wine accompanies the meal (a choice of 3 reds and 3 whites) and a selection of local cheeses will also be available, served with port. Tea and/or coffee and mints follow.
The chalet staff will have one day off during the week (usually Thursday) for you to enjoy the delights of the local restaurants. On this day you will be able to help yourself to a buffet style continental breakfast.
Rooms will be made ready in the evening whilst you are at dinner. The bed will be made ready, the bedside lights will be switched on and water will be placed next to your bed.
The hosts will cater for all individual requirements, including vegetarians, special diets and allergies - just let us know before you travel.
