Easter ski holidays
Easter skiing is superb and one of the most popular times to plan a ski holiday in France, and it’s easy to see why! You get more sunshine than any other time of the season but you still get good snow conditions if you pick the right ski resort. The sun is also stronger and seen more frequently at this time of year, perfect for spending an afternoon relaxing in the sun, playing with the kids on the beginner slopes, soaking up the rays or even perfecting your goggle tan-marks to show off on your return home!
Courchevel is a perfect choice for your Easter ski holidays 2010. It’s a high altitude resort so the snow should still be of good quality. Due to north facing aspect, Courchevel 1850 descends into shadow at in mid afternoon, this protects the snow from the sun and the snow keeps for longer. Courchevel’s main pistes are almost completely covered by artificial snow making facilities too!
The flattering Bellecote and Verdons pistes are great for those of you on your first ski trip or if you are wanting to get you “ski-legs” back again at the start of the week before trying something more challenging. Try the Suisses black run if you are looking for steepness and moguls. There is plenty of off-piste potential around the 3 Valleys and Courchevel 1650 is a a great place to head if you are looking for some untouched powder stashes. As it is not quite as busy as other parts of the 3 Valleys, snow stays untouched there for longer! Courchevel 1650 also has extensive artificial snow making facilities to ensure that the pistes are as well groomed as the dogs you see in hand-bags in Courchevel 1850!
