For those of you that have to take your yearly ski holiday during school holidays, Courchevel is a great destination to pick for your half term ski holidays.
Courchevel is the perfect resort for kids. The skiing is a child friendly as you will find in Europe, if not the world. The slopes themselves are fantastic, with the Bellecote and Verdons pistes being the most popular for kids and adults looking to get their “Ski legs” back. Both of these pistes are long sweeping green runs that are directly accessed by lifts from the resort centre. Progression after these runs is not a problem; there is an ample selection of blues in and around the resort hub as well. Try the Biollay, gentle enough to challenge beginners without scaring the living daylights out of them!
There is also plenty of excellent ski schools from which to choose. My recommendations would be Magic/Ski Academy, New Generation and Supreme Ski. All of these companies offer top notch tuition and a cracking mix of courses to choose from. Making sure your children are in the safest hands possible over the course of your half term ski holiday.
After skiing, there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied (If the skiing hasn’t wiped them out!). In the town centre itself, you have the Forum centre. This is a shopping centre but on the ground floor there is a games arcade, bowling alley, climbing wall and ice rink to enjoy. There is a swimming pool and also an Ice Karting track too.
For those of you looking for something a little more active after the skiing is over, ask your Representative about Skidooing or even driving a piste basher!! The list is endless!

This is a stunning new chalet built in 2009. It is a stones throw away from the town centre and the piste. The Chalet is in Courchevel 1550, a great area for families. From the kids perspective, you are 50m away from the toboggan run. This starts in Courchevel 1850 and is accessed by the Tovets gondola and ends in 1550. It is great fun and highly recommended. The chalet is lovely, with TV’s in all the en suite bedrooms and with a top end catering service all for a price that will not break the bank. Perfect!
