Courchevel Ski Resort

The resort of Courchevel offers something for everyone - immaculate pistes, superbly interlinked skiing to suit all abilities on the vast 3 Vallees ski area amidst beautiful scenery. Add to this an astounding range of bars, restaurants, chic boutiques and nightspots and it's no wonder that Courchevel is so highly rated. The resort of Courchevel is actually made up of 4 separate villages: Courchevel 1850, 1650, 1550 & 1300 (Le Praz). The numbers relate to the height of the villages in metres and are locally just referred to these. Free buses run between the villages.

Courchevel 1850 is one of the most glamorous ski resorts in France and is the highest and largest of the four 'Courchevels' with the smartest shops and best nightlife. It is conspicuously upmarket, with some of the best accommodation available in the Alps, although there is an excellent choice of more affordable places to stay. Most bars and restaurants are fairly expensive, however it does boast a good range of eateries from cheaper snack bars to Michelin star restaurants. There is excellent access to the rest of the 3 Vallees from 1850 with a number of gondolas to choose from.
